Saint Joseph Catholic School has been fostering character and Gospel values for over fifty-five years. All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Charleston are asked to integrate all aspects of human knowledge through subjects taught in the light of the Gospel.
Saint Joseph Catholic School strives to acknowledge and reinforce positive behaviors in our students. Our mission is that each student develops spiritually, strives for academic excellence and develops character based on Gospel values.
Guided by solid Christian principles, such as “The Golden Rule”, the children learn how to be truly excellent—inspired by the example of our patron Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ, and supportive husband of Jesus’ mother Mary. The 277 students in grades K4 through 6 at the school are encouraged to follow Joseph by being Just, Obedient, Service-oriented, an Example to others, Prayerful and Humble. We endeavor to instruct and remind the students and faculty of this essential message through daily lessons and interactions. In addition to providing and atmosphere in which safety is paramount, we encourage healthy interactions among the students and adults in the community, so that children feel safe, nurtured, and supported in every aspect of their lives.
